Teacher, Reclaim Your Classroom!

Are you a teacher,  finding it hard to teach...not because you lack skill, knowledge, great content, and a good attitude, but because you've got some students who, themselves, are highly skilled  in their own chosen profession--challenging you for control of the class time? Are you aching to reclaim your classroomIf so, you are in the right place, right now. Good news, right?

Even before our schools’ current struggles with established problems like drugs and cyberbullying, inappropriate low-level behaviors were tearing at the heart of academic learning. Many of us see the irony: the small, seemingly mild infractions (if left unchecked) can garner enough power over time to spoil an entire learning ecosystem. Clearly, such harsh disruption brings with it dire results!

Teachers want to teach, and students want to learn.

It sure sounds simple, doesn't it! But we’ve all seen the interruption of this sensible formula for education. Many of us as educators see and feel the disconnect on a daily basis. Why? How do our best efforts go awry? Teachers and students alike become frustrated and, sadly, some even give up. Students find it difficult to persist when many of them aren’t even sure why they’re there in the first place.

Teachers with an impeded dream begin to wonder why they thought they could make a difference in children’s lives (because it’s clear that supervising their classrooms has somehow become the priority). It’s a deepening conundrum, and educators at every level crave a workable solution.

Nevertheless, there’s hope for unraveling that conundrum. The "secret" is a proven blueprint for success which, when implemented correctly, can change the trajectory of the academic year for everyone involved…teachers, students, special educators, administrators, service personnel, parents – and yes, the community at large.

Stay with me, and let's talk about some things. For starters, you're not anywhere near alone...students don't necessarily know how to behave when they arrive at school (but can be taught), and...I can help you learn to successfully run your classroom so your classroom cannot successfully run you.

Did you know that almost half of new teachers are deciding to leave the profession within five years?

incredulous

I want to help once energetic teachers reclaim their teaching space through superb classroom management. (P.S. You won’t need to take a few weeks to ready your environment before you can implement the strategies you learn. Use them the very next day!)

Wearied teacher, are you ready? Reconnect. Reengage. Regain your passion!

How do I fit in?

Easy, short answer!! Like you, I care about learning and understand the stakes are high. As an Associate Trainer with the Center for Teacher Effectiveness, I'd love to come to your school and share some practical, proven, data-driven strategies that can change the trajectory of your classroom and renew your passion for teaching!

My name is Darlene Lamoureux, and I've been a professional educator for 40 years. My experience is of the eclectic variety, and I've taught learners from age 0 to 100 in an assortment of interesting settings, including Texas, New Mexico, Alabama, Connecticut, and Haiti! I've enjoyed the privilege of working with learners who are endowed with exceptional skills and talents, as well as with learners who live with challenging physical and/or  intellectual disabilities.

My students have come from an array of social, economic, and cultural backgrounds, and together we have overcome any barriers to learning. Communication has never been an issue when my language was different from theirs, because first we set up the parameters of our relationship, and then we begin the learning process. Besides, we all smile in the same language!

How can I help you reclaim your classroom, exactly?

A certified national trainer of an extraordinary classroom management plan, I bring a comprehensive set of strategies and techniques which you then can use to amplify the positive outcomes you are getting with any program or philosophy you are using now, as well as to eliminate the negatives that are hampering your ability to deliver the curriculum you've worked so diligently to prepare.

I'm not here to sell you a new latest and greatest program, and it is not my predominant aim to replace any discipline systems that your school is currently using--though schools across America have been experiencing such positive results that they often choose to adopt our complete set of strategies as a conduit for systemic improvement throughout the entire school culture. What I want to offer you and other educators in your school fits in with, and complements, any program you're already using. Think of it like hot wax that fills in the cracks!

Of course, because these strategies and techniques are designed specifically to respond judiciously to the cognitive abilities and behavioral inclinations of human beings - while always supporting academic achievement - they are more than ready to be used as a standalone program. Use them correctly, and succeed you will...it's up to you and your school as to how big you go.  Do you just want to shine up the car, or do you want to "go full" wax museum!?!

Here's a snippet of the content I will share with you to help you and your students shine this year!!
