“Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God.”   ~ 1 Corinthians 2:12

Getting Over Anxiety

So why do I feel bold enough to talk to you about getting over anxiety? After all, I do not have a psychology degree (yes, this is my "disclaimer").

I can't sign LSW, MFT, or SAP after my name. No certifications in Crisis Response, Counseling for Victims of Sexual Abuse, or for helping those with chemical dependency.

In fact, I don't have any credential offered by this world that says I have anything to offer to people who are hurting.

But - and millions (maybe billions) of people can attest to its value - I have more than 50 years of self-study in the world's best-selling textbook. If I don't have an answer, I do know where to find one.

Getting over anxiety is possible

You've got to learn a whole different set of rules and regulations in order to expect any significant improvement in your life, right? Au contraire!

Your Creator didn't design you in His very own image just so He could leave you floundering in the deep! In fact, discover what He has to say about getting over anxiety....

You can find an audio version here or here. To listen to Philippians 4 being read aloud, you'll need either the Google app for Faith Comes By Hearing, or Spotify for Bible Study Tools.

Bibles in Braille are also available for those who are visually impaired, as are audio versions.

I'm including the text below, for those of you who prefer to read visually over listening.

Philippians 4:4-9

(In the New Testament part of the Bible, the letter from the apostle Paul to the church in Philippi. Below are verses numbered - later for ease in finding specific Scriptures - 4 through 9)

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be apparent to all. The Lord is near.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me, put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

And, of  course, God has used and is still using willing servants to translate His Word into sign language videos for the deaf.

A very doable browse session via a search engine can lead you to other wonderful Bible resources, as well, like the website from which I shared the Philippians text with you above.

By the way...

When I told you earlier that I had over 50 years experience learning from the Scriptures, I was sharing evidence of the fact that I have desperately searched God's written Word for answers to my own (frequent) problems, issues, and concerns. You could see that, right?  :)
